Medication is a complex issue, with many different views and experiences. For family members, carers and friends, their level of knowledge, their personal experience, but also their anxieties around the subject will influence their views on medication. It can be hard amongst all these competing and confusing demands to hear what the voice hearer wants, to listen to their experience of medication, and to advocate for them. If the relationship is good and built on trust, the individual may feel more able to discuss the pros and cons of medication with their carer or family member.
