Navigating the mental health system can be a challenging and confusing experience. Not all services are available everywhere: for example, whilst Open Dialogue may be of interest, it is still only being trialled in a limited number of UK Trusts, and art therapy for psychosis is only available in a couple of UK hospitals. Understanding what is available locally, what is the best fit for the person and involving them as much as possible can be a juggling act.

You can find information about mental health services available in the UK and how to access them through the NHS here.

For anyone who has had to involve statutory mental health services, this can challenge even the best relationships.
